About two hours later, my mom starts texting pictures of her bouquet. It's HUGE! It's a beautiful bouquet, it was delivered quickly and the service was helpful and efficient. I think those are roses at the bottom, but the whole arrangement is amazing and a good artist will know when the client is wrong ;-)

Hanging baskets stuffed with eight to ten different plants all jostling one another were considered gorgeously beautiful. Plants of Alpine straw-berry, mother-of-thousands, ivies, cape-cowslip, toad-flax, half-hardy ferns, were used singly or together for these baskets. An excellent idea was of keeping a dish or shallow-pan in which mosses, ivies and grass had been planted and kept growing as a background for small spring as summer flowers which were brought in and renewed as required in these permanent beds of greenery.
Buttonhole flowers
In those days the buttonhole flower-holder which held a little water came into popularity to preserve these flowers. Tailors made special loops to hold the little tube in place behind the lapel of a gentleman’s coat. Pieces of oiled silk were sometimes used by both men and women to cover the ends of the stems of a bunch or spray and help preserve flowers. Wicker and metal bouquet holders were used for posies and nosegays. The latter was small bunches of flowers, sweet smelling and decorative and were made to be carried by ladies elegantly attired at a ball or as they strolled in the park or paid a call upon a friend. Bowls were used for informal occasions, but it was the tall thin trumpet-shaped containers which were considered the most beautiful. As many as eight to fourteen vase were placed on one dinner table; the tables were huge and so were vases and the decorations.!
